ViSOAR LLC's viewer for the Battelle/NEON AOP Data products demonstrated the effectiveness of the framework to deliver high performance and interactive visualization of more than hundred datasets.  Making our server a stable and usable tool for NEON required hardening of several components in the current architecture, such as data ingestion, conversion and publishing pipelines. In order to make this tool useful for the user community the components make use of the georeferenced nature of the AOP data and provide a multi-layer (i.e., including external map services) exploration capability that can also support vector data like point-wise metadata and flight plans. Those information are previously available as separate files for each dataset, but not exposed until now.

ViSOAR Agriculture

ViSOAR Ag Explorer provides a solution for stitching of full resolution aerial imagery in the field without requiring an internet connection, making it an indispensable part of the software stack underlying every agricultural UAS system sold. Agisoft, Photoscan, and Pix4D each take approximately 4 hours to process 100 images on a high-end workstation, or up to 8 hours for imagery per flight; far too time consuming for large-scale deployment. Our goal is provide in field image stitching at a coarse resolution that progressively solves 600 images in 10 minutes providing a full resolution view of the data, enabling instant analytics.

​ViSOAR Analytics

ViSOAR Analytics provides on the fly image processing for structured grid data (images and volumes), allowing massive data to be viewed, analyzed, and interacted with in a simple UI. Applied within a progressive, streaming paradigm, ViSOAR Analytics only presents the data needed for display.  Analytics includes both simple operations (brightness, contrast) as well as complex processing (region of interest clustering,  feature detection). Not only does our progressive, streaming paradigm allow users to see meaningful results faster, but analysis can start before the final solution is computed.​
 

ViSOAR VR Neuron Tracing

Tracing neurons in large-scale microscopy data is crucial to  establishing a wiring diagram of the brain. Automatic techniques often fail for large and noisy datasets, and connectomics researchers can spend weeks or months manually tracing neurons using 2D image stacks. We propose a new virtual reality based tool for neuron tracing. In our evaluation we find (1) Users are 2x faster, making equivalent quality traces (2) VR tracing is easier to learn for novices and more intuitive.

 ViSOAR Geology

Geology and Exploration require in-the-field interaction with massive images and collaboration between experts. ViSOAR Geology provides a solution where multiple experts can annotate and share their results using mobile devices on gigapixel surveys without external network connectivity. Back on campus, ViSOAR Analytics provides tools to facilitate interactive feature detection in massive data for geologists, reducing the time and improving the quality of interpretation.​
 
EZFault3D
EZFault3D accelerates geologic interpretation tasks through semi-automated algorithms for stick construction and grouping into faults. Designed with continuous input from interpreters at a large O&G company, EZFault3D fits into existing interpretation workflows with a natural look and feel. A fully interactive environment marries user input with algorithmic computation, allowing large-scale manipulations as well as direct editing. Working only with slices/fault sticks allows EZFault3D to be extremely lightweight and highly responsive. Turn AI generated fault probability into usable geologic models 10x faster!

Geobody Splitter
Geobody splitter by ViSOAR allows geologists to separate multi-cycle geobodies in seconds. Coarse annotations turn into fine separation along natural energy seams in the geobodies. An iterative approach allows repreated division of large geobodies into many pieces.

VisStore

VisStore provides cost effect solutions for storage and access of massive imagery.  VisStore is a plug-and-play data management infrastructure built as a combination of commodity hardware with our scalable, light-weight software stack.  VisStore enables scientists to collect, store, and access virtually arbitrarily large scans.  Placing a network attached storage (NAS) device on a local networks allows users to easily direct the image capture where images will be automatically combined and converted into our fast read and fast write proprietary streaming and multi-resolution file format that allows immediate read access, even for partially stored datasets.  Users can see their data as it is being scanned without the need for expensive, high-perfamance disks or specialized high-bandwidth networks.​
 

ViSOAR Neuroscience 

Neuroscience has been pushing the envelope on data size, as resolving individual neurons on the scales needed to understand brain morphology leads to massive, high-resolution imagery. ViSOAR's solutions automate alignment and stitching, and make interactive exploration and analysis possible. For tractography, ViSOAR reduces time and improves the accuracy for user guided segmentation.​
 

Scout tracker

Crop consultants who manage teams of scouts spend 90% of their time on the phone, or CB Radio.  Their days are full of questions like "Where are you?".  Additionally, crop scouts make lots of calls asking about where to go next.  We have designed a simple web app to help optimize organizations of teams of people in the field.  Scout Trackers displays real time the team member locations, outlines the areas of interest, lists and allows assignment of fields to cover on that day.  The application also includes a simple chat interface to keep all the information within a single application.
